Fairmont Sports Academy
Fairmont Sports Academy is a Colligate Prep Academy operating in beautiful Orlando, Florida. We offer college level training for men’s basketball ages 16 to 22, and pro- level golf training for Men and Women ages 18-22. Our dormitories are located just 10 minutes outside of downtown Orlando, 30 minutes from Disney World, Universal Studios, City Walk and International Drive. “The Big House- USA”, our training facility located in nearby Tavares, Florida, is equipped with 9 basketball courts and a state of the art fitness center. Meet The Coaches
Head Coach - Roderick Wilmont
Coach Wilmont started his basketball career at Mirimar High School in Miramar, FL and went on to play 4 years for the Indiana Hoosiers. While playing for the Hoosiers, Coach Wilmont earned two spots on the Big Ten’s all-defensive team and a third team all-conference selection. He holds the record for the most 3-point shots made in a game
Coach Wilmont started his basketball career at Mirimar High School in Miramar, FL and went on to play 4 years for the Indiana Hoosiers. While playing for the Hoosiers, Coach Wilmont earned two spots on the Big Ten’s all-defensive team and a third team all-conference selection. He holds the record for the most 3-point shots made in a game and is considered one of the best shooters in the school’s history. After college, Wilmont played four years professionally in the NBA Development League, which included time on the roster with Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks. He continued to play professionally five more years overseas in Europe. Coach Wilmont started his coaching career in 2013 with the NBA G League Team -Fort Wayne Mad Ants, winning a championship as Assistant Coach his second year. He then went on to win 3 championships coaching the Fort Wayne Flight in 2015. After continuing his coaching career in the 2016-2017 season as the Head Coach of Lakewood Park Christian High School, Coach Wilmont spent one season as an Assistant Coach for Manchester University and one season as Assisstant Coach for Gochen College. In 2019 Coach Wilmont began his coaching career in Florida as Head Coach of the Prep School National Top Sports Institute.
Coach - Chris Porter
In high school Coach Porter led Abbeville High school to a state championship. He then went on to be a star at Auburn University where he accumulated accolades including SEC player of the year. He led his team to the sweet sixteen and even graced the cover of sports illustrated. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors and spent a number of Years in the NBA and NBA G League where he won a championship with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Ben Fair Assistant Coach
Ben Fair is a young coaching prodigy; his Grandfather Jim Robbins is in the Basketball Hall of Fame for his tenor coaching in Indiana. Coach Fair won a championship at the AAU level in Indiana before making the move to Florida where he’s already won 2 tournament championships at the prep school level.
